Geocache Box
What is a good geocache container?

The prices on ammo boxes at ebay was a bit high, so what is a good water resistant container for a geocache? I have used a peanut butter jar, but they seem to leak a little.

Tupperware is far from waterproof. A better choice would be the so called “Lock and Lock” plastic containers or a generic equivalent. These have locking flaps around the edges and a rubber gasket in the lid which does a much better job at sealing out water. I’ve found caches in just about every kind of container imaginable, and have found that very few do a good job at keeping water out. Ammo cans are great, but as you’ve noticed, the price has approximately doubled since I’ve been caching. I used to use them all the time, but lately have gone to the Lock and Lock style plastic containers, especially in areas where the cache may be more accessible to muggles.
